friends from Texas

So our friends, the Drosts, that moved to Texas last summer came up to Canada to visit and attend their sisters wedding (Jackie's wedding below).
Jake is my sons best friend, and as much as they can, Ian and Jake have been getting together in the last couple weeks....I still have yogurt containers full of tadpoles all over my house. I even noticed a few swimming around in my toilet. Boys will be boys.
Last friday Jeannie came to drop off a few kids and ended up staying longer than expected. So I made some tea and we totally flaked out on the lawn in the warm sunshine. My kind of an afternoon....kids running through the fields, laughing and screaming, mama's drinking tea on the grass...and of course my camera in hand.

The 3 drost boys, Pete, Joe, and Jake, and Ian

Becky's boyz

What a treat it was yesterday to visit with an old girlfriend from highschool. It has been atleast 9 years and 6 kids between us since we have seen eachother. Becky came out to the farm midmorning and I followed the boys 'B' and 'A' around the fields, I even got a couple shots with them upclose with the cows. They were very excited about the cows coming along to see what we were doing.
After our shoot, Becky and I hung out on my deck, had some green tea and did a couple hours worth of catching up while her boys played with my kids in the backyard. Thanks so much for coming out Becky. I had an awesome time with you yesterday.

Jackie and Kevin May 30, 2009

I know it's been soooooo long since i've been keeping up with my blog....kids, housework, friends, work, and farming have been keeping me from typing my thoughts and showing my photography on my blog. I kinda made a promise to myself to blog atleast twice a week now which will be no problem....I hope.....the busy photography season is fast approaching and I'm super excited to start shooting again. I had the priviledge to photograph a wedding this past weekend. Jackie and Kevin....sooo adorable. I remember Jackie....aka Rosie....when she was just a tiny little thing. Her and her 4 other older sisters (with long braided hair) along with big sis Jeannie, would sometimes come camping with my family and boy would we get into mischief together.....Oh the good old days. Jackie is from a HUGE family of 12 siblings. I did the Benjamins family pictures last fall and then they asked me to do Jackies wedding. Of course I had to say yes. It was so great to be part of this fun day and watch you Jackie and your silly sisters goofing around. There were some awesome moments to capture and also some very tender moments that gave me tears. I'm a sucker for tender moments.....I love capturing the emotions during a wedding day. Here's just a sneak peak for you Jackie and Kevin and ALLLLL you Benjamins girls.

Everyone needs to have a mama like Jackie's mom. She is so gracious, patient, and so sweet....and she raised 10 girls. TEN!!!! She makes everyone feel welcome and part of the family. Last fall when I did family pictures for them, she had a house full with all her 12 children who were either married or engaged or dating, and about 30 grandchildren running around...and you could just see her glow. You could really see that she Loves having her family around her.

Jackie and Kevin had a bagpiper (pipest??) during the ceremony. He played while Jackie walked down the aisle, and he played "amazing grace" during the signing of the register, and also walked them out when the ceremony was over. It was so beautiful and sooo unique.

After pictures in the park, the wedding party decided to do a few rounds at the local Boston pizza, and they asked me to tag along. This was probably the funnest part of the day. Got some fun shots of the group, especially of the girls goofing around. Here's just a couple (more civilized shots) :)

Country girl & City girl

Well another year has flown by and my cousin Courtney is attending her senior prom. Man, where does the time go? I remember holding her when she was just a baby and my aunt peg would set her in my arms and I would cradle her and look down at her precious chubby cheeks while my aunt would take pictures. Well...now it's my turn to take pictures for.....(gasp) her senior pictures. Her date for the prom was her best friend Jess from Hamilton. (She just got signed on to model for "Vogue"). I was super excited to photograph my first model....true naturel, that's for sure. What a pleasure it was to hang out with you girls and capture your silliness and special bond.
